Here’s to new beginnings: new look, new menu, new website

By
Trafalgar Tavern

2020 has been a weird year for everyone but, for us, it’s been one of our most productive. While most of you were locked down at home, our builders were allowed to continue working on our magnificent pub giving it a refresh like never before, our new executive chef was busy creating our best menu yet and the techy peeps were giving our tired old website a proper redesign.

NEW LOOK

On the ground floor we have the Ferrari of kitchens with beautiful marble walls, state-of-the-art equipment – including a robata grill – and a team of talented chefs to put it to good use.

The Nile Room, on the ground floor, has been opened up as an extension of the bar and has lots of socially-distanced tables ready to welcome guests. On the first floor, we’ve opened up the space of the Nelson Room and the Hawke and Howe bar then, on the second floor, we have three beautiful spaces ready for private events… when the time comes that we can, in the words of Vera Lynn, all meet again.

NEW MENU

Alongside the new kitchen, of course, comes a brilliant new menu that we hope you’ll love as much as we do. There are so many delicious dishes we can’t wait for you to try. If you’re just popping by for a drink; the pork, cheddar and Marmite sausage roll makes the perfect snack to go with a pint or glass of wine.

If you’re coming for a feast (we suggest you do) new starters include devilled whitebait with caper mayonnaise, pork belly with xo sauce and Jerusalem artichoke soup with caramelised wild mushrooms.

For mains, there’s plenty to choose from; try our homemade chicken kiev with baby gem lettuce, truffle and parmesan, a slow-cooked lamb shoulder pie or share the 40-day aged Hereford rib of beef.. The classics, like fish and chips, bangers and mash and a proper cheeseburger are, of course, on there too.

You’ll want to save room (dessert stomach, right?) for a sweet; we’ve got hot chocolate pudding with almond butter and honeycomb ice cream, blood orange posset with olive oil and pistachio shortbread and a classic apple crumble served with ice cream AND custard.

NEW WEBSITE

Last but not least, our website has been given some much-needed love and attention. As you can see; gone is the old clunky number and its place is a shiny new space to find out all you need to know about what’s going on at the Trafalgar Tavern. All our brand new menus can be found here, news about live music and events here and information on weddings and conferences right here.

We’ve also delved into all the wonderful art and artefacts you can find at the Trafalgar Tavern and made an interactive page where you can explore each floor. But, ultimately, nothing will be as good as visiting yourself; seeing the new space and trying the new menu… we hope to see you soon.
